RE-MAKING OF A lager LEGEND
When we decided to bring back the bear, we wanted to make sure it was pure Helles perfection. And, after a lot of touring, talking and tasting (and some more tasting after that), we discovered a family-owned brewery on the edge of a Bavarian forest that was gifted enough to make it. Well, if you’re going to craft a genuine Bavarian Helles, brewing it in Bavaria is a pretty good place to start. But that’s not all…

Reinheitsgebot Beer Purity Law
Hofmeister is made according to the 1516 Reinheitsgebot German Beer Purity Law, which states that only three ingredients can be used to make beer. And while using so few ingredients doesn’t make things easy, it does result in an incredible lager.

Award-Winning Hallertau Hops
With only three ingredients, we obviously insist on the best. Pure mineral water from an underground lake beneath the Ebersberg Forest, locally grown barley malted in our own malthouse, and hops from the award-winning Hallertau region. Well, why mess around with perfection?

Slow-brewed to perfection
We believe great lager’s only ready when it’s ready. That’s why we’re one of only four Bavarian breweries out of more than 600 to be Slow-Brewed Accredited. By brewing Hofmeister slower and colder than many other lagers we won’t mention, we get a depth of taste and gentle carbonation many others just can’t achieve.
